Finn Beales is a photographer, director and writer working across editorial, documentary and commercial commissions, based in the Welsh mountains near Hay-on-Wye. Long-form work centres on landscape, conservation and the people who tend wild places.
Published and forthcoming titles, and a record of where the work has been shown.
Essays and field notes on the projects, the places, and the making of the books.
Hand-coated platinum and palladium editions, printed in the studio. Each is signed, numbered, and made to last generations.
These are not files sent to a lab. Each print is made by hand, sheet by sheet, through a process that has changed little in a century. From coating to signing, a single print takes the better part of a day — which is why every one is an individual object, not a reproduction.
